After their Emancipation by President Abraham Lincoln in 1863, Peter Hunt enlisted in the Union Army's newly formed United States Colored Troops (USCT) during the Civil War. This story of Peter Hunt is a "must read" for teens, so that they may know and understand that life isn't always what it appears to be.
