Book excerpt: This strategic plan outlines the Federal Highway Administration's (FHWA's) Nondestructive Evaluation (NDE) Program's strategic framework (i.e., goals, objectives, and strategies) for the allocation of FHWA resources. This framework is aligned with FHWA's and the U.S. Department of Transportation's other strategic plans.(1,2) Through internal and external discussions with stakeholders, three strategic goals and objectives were identified: stakeholders, technology, and implementation. Fifteen strategies were identified to support these goals and objectives. This document presents these objectives, strategies, action items, and a more complete description of how they will be used to guide the actions of the FHWA NDE Program.
