He grew up in a picturesque family with three brothers and his mother Tammy. His father was a police officer who eventually became a food wholesaler, while his mother worked in retail. As a child, Reynolds was a gifted student who excelled in academics, athletics, and drama. He attended Kitsilano Secondary School in Vancouver, where he was elected class president and was also an active member of the drama club.
