M. Lieutenant Governor Thomas Hanna called the Senate to order. After which the Senate was led in prayer by Rev. Dr. Marine, of the Methodist church. Twenty-three Senators elected in 1882 for the constitutional term of four years, appeared and answered to their names as follows.
