Book excerpt: "During September and October 1980 and during August 1981, an archaeological field reconnaissance was conducted for the Phase II cultural resources survey. Eight loci were identified which exhibited evidence of historic cultural activity, and which contained remnant structural remains. These sites were recorded, photographed and evaluated in terms of their potential for eligibility for the National Register of Historic Places. One site, which contained multiple archaeological resources, appeared to be of sufficient importance to warrant nomination to the National Register of Historic Places as an historic district. Additional tests were recommended prior to nomination, to determine the exact nature and extent of the resources present and to evaluate the degree of previous disturbance to the site. Estimates of recommended additional work in time and materials were provided for those sites which appeared to be eligible for the National Register of Historic Places, and which required additional (Phase III) investigations and tests. Interim protective measures were recommended for such sites"--Page viii.
