The Strategy covers the six year period from 2018 to 2023 and focuses on improving the health and well-being of those afflicted with infectious diseases of poverty, by fostering an effective global research effort and promoting the translation of innovation to health impact in disease endemic countries. The framework has the following stated objectives: Promote continuous performance improvement through organizational review, learning and informed decision-making; enhance accountability to stakeholders, including beneficiaries, partners and resource contributors; ensure strategic relevance and coherence of TDR's activities to meet the aspirations expressed in the vision, mission and strategy, and their alignment with the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals; and ensure TDR’s performance assessment is harmonized and consistent with international practices.
