The American art-union, established in New York, numbered upwards of four thousand subscribers at the termination of the year 1846. At its last anniversary, Upwards of nine thou sand subscriptions were reported to the association, which, at the rate of five dollars each, gives an income of Upwards of forty-eight thousand dollars for the year.
