Book excerpt: Artist Marc Castelli's passion for the nautical led him to an unusual community-based programme on the Chesapeake Bay: the building of a full-scale replica of the Boston-built 1768 schooner, Sultana, the smallest ship in the Royal Navy. The project became an obsession, involving daily trips to the shipyard and three to five hours a day of drawing for six years.
