Book excerpt: Excerpt from Catalogue of the Officers and Students of Middlebury College in Middlebury, Vermont, and of Others Who Have Received Degrees, 1800-1915 The late Dean Walter E. Howard, to whom. The College is chiefly indebted for the valuable General Catalogue of its centennial year, had accumulated before his death much valuable data for a new edition. This was placed in the hands of the present compiler in December, 1915. And since that date the collection of new material and revision of former records has proceeded as rapidly as other duties would allow. The present volume includes the records of all who have been connected with the College from 1800 through the year 1915, with corrections to the time of going to press. A new feature is biographical records of all trustees, to which special atten tion has been given. Non-graduates are listed in connection with the records of the classes of which they were members. Students who were registered with more than one class, while in College, are listed with the class in which their names last appear on the College records.
