Book excerpt: The experimental data on the charged particles multiplicity distribution from the diffractive coherent reactions of protons with nuclei at incident momenta 20.8, 50, 67, and 200 Gev/c are presented and discussed. the comparison with the corresponding data from the diffraction dissociation in proton-proton interactions was made. It is shown that the diffractive processes have a universal character.
