The New Jersey Division of Fish, Game, and Wildlife, Endangered and Nongame Species Program, provided major funding for the guide from the sale of New Jersey's Conserve Wildlife license plates and the state income tax "check-off for Wildlife." The division hopes that this guide will provide, in addition to enjoyment and satisfaction, a heightened appreciation for New Jersey's natural environment and its wildlife treasures.
