Book excerpt: Despite the entrenched tradition of the Jerusalem temple mount¿s identification, ancient descriptions of it do not correspond with the 36-acre area we see today. Instead, they suggest a temple site squarely in the City of David, on Mount Zion¿the southeastern hill¿600 feet south of the presently held site. This small book contains a compendium of some 375 statements taken from my larger book entitled The Jerusalem Temple Mount Myth. Taken together they lead to conclusion that is markedly different from what we have been told for hundreds of years. In this compendium, I give a quotation, its source, and an explanation for how each description serves to negate the current tradition. Even for traditionalists who wish to cling to their current interpretation, this body of literary evidence can be of great benefit for studying this important topic.
