He married ca. 1678 Damaris Page, daughter of Isaac and Damaris Shattuck Page. She was born ca. 1659 probably in Boston, Mass., where her parents married in 1653. She died 1722 in Pasquotank Co., N.C., the widow of Henry White, Jr., her second husband. John and Damaris Morris had one son, John (1680-1739). The Morrises were Quakers. Family members and descendants live in Indiana, North Carolina, Nebraska, Texas and elsewhere.
