Book excerpt: Henry Randolph (1623-1673) was born at Little Houghton, Northamptonshire, England, the son of William and Dorothy Lane West Randolph. He immigrated to America in 1642 or 1643 and settled in Henrico County, Virginia. He married twice and was the father of five children, only one of whom survived to adulthood. His descendant, Elisha Randolph (1784-1856), was born in North Carolina or Tennessee. He married Mary (Polly) Evans in Rowan County, Tennessee, in 1806. They had six known children, 1808-1825?. The family migrated to Warren County, Tennessee, before 1813, and to Morgan County, Alabama, ca. 1820. The family was living in Blount County, Alabama, by 1830; Walker County, Alabama, in 1832; and Fayette County, Alabama, in 1841. He died there. Descendants listed lived in Alabama, Texas, and elsewhere.
