Book excerpt: Hugging each other in fear we sat silently in our tent. Peeking through the front door we saw Mr. Rigby quietly getting out of his tent. We shuddered upon realizing he had an ax in his hand. Longer and much larger then my boat, curious mammals swam silently just under the surface of the just thawed arctic water. Carefully they began checking out the intrude- me. Blood was everywhere! Jordyn was crying for them not to put it back in and not to touch it! I could only. "Dave! Look at this! Tornadoes are heading right at where our trip is camped!" Diane exclaimed. My head began to spin. Tornadoes, no prescription. "But the Ozark canoe trip; that was my dream! That was my goal. I just had to go!" wrote twelve-year old student, Courtney Kramer, in her journal. "Hudson Bay! I want to paddle on Hudson Bay!" exclaimed fifty-four year old teacher, David Rigby, when asked what his dream was. Dreams! Teacher and student strive to make their dreams a reality but sometimes dreams don't turn out as expected. Then again, sometimes they are even better!
