Intellectual properties are the main resources for survival of organizations in nowadays competitive world; therefore, increasing number of companies are investing on knowledge management (KM) and its implementation. The project-oriented organizations undoubtedly have the same situation. Furthermore, these kinds of organizations also have inherent temporariness, short-term oriented, complexity and non-routine activities which make them special. The separation of project team members after reaching the project goals is the biggest barrier for implementing KM. Therefore, project-oriented organizations have many difficulties in KM implementation and KM management. Using the past researches techniques and ISM methodology, in this paper, researchers have tried to identify and rank the critical implementation factors. Results show that management factor has the most determination and persuasive power among other factors. Consequently, it can be the first critical KM implementation factor in project-oriented organization.
